NES with the blinking power light
Games would only boot after a dozen tries. A new 72-pin connector, the lockout chip disabled, and the owner's cartridges cleaned.
Sample Sample content, to be replaced before launch.
What came in
A front-loading NES-001 with the classic symptom: grey screen and a blinking power light with almost every game. It came with 14 cartridges.
What we did
- Replaced the 72-pin cartridge connector
- Disabled the lockout chip, so a slightly dirty cartridge still boots
- Cleaned and tested all 14 cartridges; two needed their contacts polished
- Ran the 4-hour burn-in on a game's attract mode
Every cartridge now boots on the first try.
