About
Garage 8 bits (8-Bit Garage) is a one-person repair bench for the computers, consoles and handhelds of the 1980s and early 1990s: Commodore, Atari, Nintendo, Coleco and Mattel.
[Write a few lines about yourself here: how you got into retro hardware, the first machine you fixed, what you collect.]
How the bench works
- Every machine gets a job file, from the photos taken on arrival to the repair report it goes home with.
- Every replaced chip goes in on a socket, so it can be swapped again in 40 years.
- Every repair ends with a 4-hour burn-in test.
- Turnaround is usually 2 to 3 weeks from your approval, longer if a part is back-ordered.
